I took these just before we headed into battle (aka. the vet's), because guess what's back?
Tank's PF (pemphigus foliaceus) is relentless and is back in full force. No amount of topical hydro-cortisone will stop it from ravaging my poor cat's fur! We're back on the feeding routine and sleepless nights.
But wait! There's more.
Not only is her body rejecting her fur follicles, Tank got her paw cut right in between her toe and nail bed. Regardless of how much disinfecting, cleaning and medicating I tried, it got infected due to the litter box amongst other cat things. Fun times, not.
So, here we are. I called in ahead of time to see if we could get some kind of magic sleeping pill knowing Tank would have a bit...of an attitude. I mean, she'll growl at you if she even thinks you're going to touch her paw. Getting it checked out and flushed without sedation would be out of the question.
We saw the vet, who got a nice earful of hissing and screaming and a generous show of teeth and fangs. Tank was actually pretty well behaved this time around. As for sedation, there was no time for it (which requires time and observation) as we were one of the last appointments of the day.
Dr. Paul was super patient and we agreed on an antibiotic shot and to progress from there in a week or so. If it isn't showing signs of improvement, I'll have to bring her in in the morning, have her sedated and looked at more closely. In the meantime, I am to clean and medicate her ears and paw twice a day. She get's hand fed throughout the day and basically just lumps.
She get's wheat grass as a treat. It's her favourite.
No more eating my plants!
Get better now, dammit!
