This past Friday Rich's sister hosted Passover Seder.
We ate delicious food and had a fab time!
Our evening started out with blocks. The boys were super excited to show us their rooms and the projects they were building. With the room being filled amazing light, I couldn't help but to take photos. I love the warmer months for this sole reason. Lots of daylight!
The room was getting a little crowded, so I headed downstairs to see what everyone else was up to!
Dinner set for 13 people. I love the mix and match chairs and dinnerware!
After everyone was seated, we read from the Haggadah...
...and then we had dined on delicious food; starting with matzo ball soup with homemade chicken broth. I could eat this everyday.
Richard had his vegan meal, which consisted of crispy vegetable kishka (something that I had never made before, but we enjoyed it so much, I think they will be a regular on the menu), mashed sweet potatoes and a huge serving of veggie/chick'n stir fried rice.
I ate a little bit of everything, duh.
From the top, clockwise: green beans, roasted vegetables and chicken, marshmallow sweet potato casserole, apple kugel, vegetable kugel, veg kishka, the most amazing meatballs ever and beef brisket. Seriously, so good.
For dessert we had a fruit platter...
...along with two types of homemade vegan gelato. Chocolate chocolate chip and strawberry.
I also made a batch of vegan chocolate chip cookies, made with matzo cake flour in place of regular flour. They were a little dense, but the flavours were good. A little chewy, a little crisp, lots of chocolate.
