I signed up and received this beauty box compliments of Elle Canada not too long ago. It arrived in a pretty pink box with rose designs and was packed full of their "all-star lineup of the season’s freshest beauty finds."
There were some good items and some not so good.
Favourite out of the box:
Satin Care with Olay, was hydrating and comforting to my sensitive skin. Rich even used it to shave his head and commented on how amazing it felt during and after his shave (with a not so new razor, by the way).We can both agree that this shave cream provided us with a super close shave!
Just okay item:
Pantene Repair & Protect (duo), left my hair manageable and smelling nice. Nothing really wowed me, but the samples were small so I can't comment if it really repairs my hair or protects it.
Skip it, not impressed:
CoverGirl Bombshell Volume Mascara, took me longer than usual to achieve my desired look. I've never been a fan of double ended mascaras and using this one hasn't changed my mind. Side 1 has a silicone wand with super short bristles to build up volume. Side 2 has more of a traditional brush end which is there to lengthen lashes. The formula of both ends were fairly dry, which made building up my lashes very time consuming. The worst thing about this mascara though, is that it is difficult to remove. It should be considered a waterproof (something that never touches my lashes) mascara as you need an oil based remover to gently get all of it off.
Crest 3D Whitestrips 2hour, I was pretty excited to stick these strips on my chompers. Who doesn't want a whiter smile!? I sometimes use Crest 3D White 30 minutes and 2 hours seemed a little long to me, but I used them anyways. After salivating like a rabid dog for nearly a hundred minutes, I ended up with ridiculously sensitive and almost painful teeth. Like, I couldn't even go to sleep or talk properly the next day because it hurt to breathe and it hurt whenever air touched them. No thanks.
Also included were coupons for Venus razors, Satin Care, Olay and Vidal Sassoon hair colour.
