This was a monster of a meal consisting of veal steaks, steamed broccoli and slices of toasted baguette. No recipe, just photos. I cooked it, I inhaled it and it was delicious. There was even room for dessert. Ha!
I got new fry pans. The Rock made by Heritage, is my favourite pan. It's non-stick, heavy bottomed, heavy duty and doesn't warp! Cleaning takes 15 seconds and it is oven safe. I liked them so much that I got a couple as back up when they were on sale!
You know the commercials where they fry and egg and use no oil? Then it just slides off the pan on to the plate all perfect? I tried it with The Rock and it worked. It was love at first use.
Anyway, I used this pan to steam my broccoli, then added a touch of olive oil to fry up my steak. Once that was all done, I toasted my bread in that same pan without washing it so that all the fats and juices would get soaked in. (Better than butter, I'm telling you.) Then it took me seconds to clean it out and put it back in it's place like cooking dinner never even happened. It was fab.
By the way, I've got a legit grill to cook on this summer! We picked up a barbeque a couple weeks ago and it's been glorious. No more complaining about not being able to grill in the back yard.
