The pool |
Toronto's ice storm was intense. Rich and I (along with the entire city) had no idea just how bad it was going to be. Heck, we were driving around town at 3am shopping at stores that were open twenty-four hours the night it all started, because the house was blacked out and we were bored! Sure the freezing rain was coming down hard and the trees were already glistening with ice...I just marveled at how pretty it all was, as the street lights reflected off the branches. That is, until there were no street lights and everything was dark except for the head lights of the car.
In the morning, we saw that the was now an ice rink, littered with shattered limbs of his neighbor's fallen trees. This is what it looks like in the summer.
A tangle of birch and lilac |
Lots of broken and bent branches |
Leaves that never made it to the ground in the autumn, now encased in a layer of ice |
No laundry, please. |
The lilac bushes, bent but not broken. They smell so nice in the warmer weather! |
Thunderous snaps and crashes throughout the night |
A little green winter waterfall |
Imagine it was candy and not ice? |
