Steak and pasta dinner. Check out that delicious char on that slab of beef! |
You'll want to make this and if you do, you'll need a blender for this marinade recipe. I have one, but I find
that my Magic Bullet works much better. Plus it's smaller. Smaller means easier to clean and that makes me a happy lady. The recipe is called "
Best Steak Marinade in Existence" and although I can't vouch that it's the best in existance, it's really darn good! I recommend it to you. It has 4.5 stars and over 1,200 reviews on Allrecipes.com.
The recipe says that it's good for eight servings and since I was only making four, I simply halved it. The site is good in the sense that it makes halving, quartering etc. recipes as easy as...typing in a number! Love.

Soy sauce. I used a combination of light, dark and low sodium soy. I couldn't decide. After all this is an Asian household and we have many varieties of soy sauce. Umami! |
Drizzling some oil. The recipe called for olive oil, but it felt like such a waste of the good stuff! I used peanut oil instead. |
Lots of lemon! |
I find lemons to be very photogenic. |
Don't be a clutz like me and spill everything. (I spy a heart!) |
Luckily it was on a very clean table, so I salvaged it and continued on, not looking back. |
Lemon hands. |
Worcestershire sauce for a good zippiness. |
Garlic. I used the granulated stuff even though the recipe called for powdered. It's all I had and I dared not use fresh! :P |
Dried basil, not from my garden. |
Parsley flakes, also in dried form and not from my garden. |
Ground white pepper. Perfect for a good sneezing fit! |
So there it is, after being split, salvaged and ready for blending. |
Mine looks darker than the photos I've seen, but I chalk it up to my use of dark soy and the fact that my Magic Bullet emulsifies rather than just blends. I love it. |
Smush together and marinade in the fridge until it's an hour before cooking time. I like letting the steaks come up in temperature so that it cooks evenly. |
Voila! After cooking on medium/medium high in a non-stick pan, for about 3 minutes a side, it's ready. |
Served with a side of penne pasta tossed in roasted garden tomatoes. |
