I nearly forgot to share with you the second round of french toast brunchingRich had after I had made him that yummy vegan challah! Well, here it is in all it's sweet, sweet glory!
Eggless french toast with strawberries, sliced bananas, semi-melted carob chips and a good drizzle of maple syrup. |
Gooey melt-y goodness! |
I opted for a less sweet brunch: a toasted bagel with cream cheese and cucumbers. |
Ha! I think the photo says it all. The plan was to sprinkle some dill on top...but as you can see, a sprinkling I did not get. The whole darn lid fell off and out poured the green. Luckily, I love dill. After a bit of dusting off (you didn't actually think I was going to eat it..JUST LIKE THAT, did you?) it was eaten and enjoyed. I was a happy girl.
We trotted off to Ikea where I found some pretty looking things. I was more window shopping than actual shopping.

Super pretty dinnerware in a light sea-foam green! Super reasonably priced too at $19.99 for 12pcs. |
I really like this design as well! Super simple and classic, $49.99 for 18pcs |
Adorable bowls, perfect for cereal or ice cream or soup or...anything. They're only $1.50 each! Rich is trying to photo bomb with a less cute bowl. |
These drinking glasses are vintage-y and again, super cute! $1.99 each |
Glass bottles that would look really nice on a vanity or a bathroom counter. $15.99/set of three |
I would have finished off my visit with a nice Ikea dinner along with a yogurt cone on the way out, but I resisted. Now I'm wishing I had some of those Swedish meatballs with lots of gravy and lingonberry jam! Oh and a side of fries or mashed potatoes. mmMm!
