We ordered a serving of edamame to start, it came warm with just enough salt. |
|
Rich's favourite kind of sushi, made with inari (tofu pockets), stuffed with seasoned rice. | |
|
Shrimp tempura, obviously for me. |
|
We shared a grilled eggplant, which was soft and tasty! I love the dipping sauce. |
|
My favourite, spicy salmon hand rolls and a few salmon sushi. |

Grilled salmon belly |

Grilled mackerel |

Rich about to devour 24 pieces of sushi! |
|
Two orders each of the avocado roll and the avocado cucumber roll. He had a couple more inari sushi after. :) |
|
Golden dragon roll, which in my opinion had too much rice. I just peeled a layer off, that's all. |
|
For dessert, I had green tea ice cream! So yummy! |

We got home to find that Fern had baked one of her delicious (vegan) chocolate cakes, adorned with awesome candles. <3 |
His birthday was July 5. I'm posting this five days late!
I took Richard out to an all-you-can-eat Japanese lunch at
Maison du Japon, because he loves sushi and he hasn't had in a dreadfully long time. When better than to go than on his birthday!? After he had polished off, give or take 30 pieces of sushi and I had licked the bowl clean of ice cream, we both had to roll eat other out of the restaurant. We were so full to the point where we weren't even that hungry for dinner!
The overall quality of food was really good, as usual. Our food came fast and fresh, even though there were about 10-15 tables filled. Our servers were great, he and she were friendly, fast and didn't mind when we requested that the vegetarian sushi be plated separately from the others. They were very accomedating and that's why I keep on returning!
Lunch is $12.99 per adult and is completely worth it for vegans and vegetarians, compared to their $20+ dinner menu which includes sashimi and other specialty sushi varieties. I love this place!
